Sandra qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 having trained in the firm of James Murray & Co. After a spell in industry she rejoined that firm and was appointed a partner in1993, later becoming a founding partner of MFPT Chartered Accountants.

Sandra is the firm’s tax compliance partner dealing with a wide range of small and medium sized businesses in particular sole traders and partnerships. She specialises in the management of fishing boats and the taxation of those involved in the fishing industry. Sandra is a past convener of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland General Practitioners Committee and was a member of the Small Firms Working Party.
